The Craig Bay Scotch Club will hold its Annual General Meeting at 7:00 pm on May 4th in the Beach Club Lounge. This will be a very brief meeting, immediately followed by our regular “nosing and tasting” of fine whiskies that occurs on the first Thursday of each month. All members are encouraged to attend, and any Craig Bayer interested in joining is invited to contact one of the five individuals listed below.
About the Craig Bay Scotch Club
Currently, among the seven most expensive bottles of liquor in the world, three are Scotch whiskies, an Isabella Islay at $6 million, two Macallan at $3 million and $1 million.
What attributes would contribute to such a price? Some of the likely reasons include: rarity, age, single malt, percentage of alcohol; an expectation of no peaty taste to a strong peaty taste. With so many variants, how can we be sure that we would actually enjoy a $50 or $200 bottle?
The Craig Bay Scotch Club meets the first Thursday of each month for a “nosing and tasting” event. You will be introduced to a variety of single malt whiskies and occasionally some fine blends as well. We are sure the tastings will help you to decide which variants you enjoy most before you make that purchase for an important event or special person. Additionally, you will surely enjoy the hospitable and mirthful atmosphere of each meeting among your Craig Bay friends and neighbors.
The one-time membership fee is $100 per person or $150 to include your spouse/partner as a member, with the expectation that members attend at least three “nosing and tasting” events per year to maintain their memberships in good standing. This avoids the need to collect annual membership dues.
The current “nosing and tasting” price is $20 for each member or member’s guest. Contact any of the individuals below to become a member or to receive more information.
