Craig Bayers: Do you find yourself scanning the TV channels for something interesting. Are you fondly remembering Beach Club events like Super Bowl Parties? It is a little too much to hope the Beach Club will be back to full use in the next month. So, Iain Ballantyne is setting up a little fun and excitement for the upcoming February 13th Super Bowl: Buy as many $1.00 or $2.00 squares as you [...]

Art Wall

The installation of baffles in the Conservatory has necessitated the removal of the large piece of artwork on the east wall. Rather than purchasing new artwork, the BCsC has realised that this would be an excellent opportunity to showcase the artwork of the many talented Craig Bay residents. The plan is to showcase a new selection of artwork by various residents every 2 – 3 months. The project will be structured around a [...]

“Do a little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world”  ~ Desmond Tutu I saw this quote and immediately thought of how our Craig Bay Community comes together each fall to help The Salvation Army provide support to those in need in the Oceanside area. We may not be overwhelming the world, but we have overwhelmed Major Norm Hamelin from The Salvation [...]

What is ART WALL?

WHAT IS ART WALL? The installation of the Acoustic Baffles in February 2020 necessitated the removal of the one and only painting in the Conservatory. Rather than purchasing several smaller pieces of art to hang in the Conservatory, a proposal was put forward by Heidi Bunting, a member of the 2018-2019 BCsC, to create an ART WALL whereby artwork of Craig Bay artists could be displayed on a rotating basis. A working group [...]

Tuesday, June 15th was an exciting day at the Beach Club -- the swimming pool opened for the first time since 2019! And the first residents ready to take a dip were Lorne & Sue Nisbet. So great to see their smiling faces, along with all the others who were eager to be there too during this first week of the trial period opening! Special thanks again to the committee group that worked [...]
