The Beach Club Subcommittee has secured a professional ceramics artist / instructor, Lilach Lotan, to offer a four-class clay hand-building workshop starting in November (more details below).

If you wish to register (or have any questions), please contact Lilach directly at packontrack1@gmail.com or phone 250-618-3135.

WORKSHOP DETAILS:

  • The instructor will be hosting an information session in the Pottery Room at the Craig Bay Beach Club on Wednesday, November 6th at 2pm. This will give participants the opportunity to hear about the workshop being offered and to ask any questions prior to starting. Payment can be made at this time as well. Please contact the instructor if you wish to attend the information session prior to registering.
  • Workshop includes 4 sessions / 2 hrs each (Wednesdays – Nov 13, 20, 27, Dec 4 – from 3pm to 5pm) in the Beach Club Pottery Studio.
  • Projects will focus on clay hand-building, and the glazing / firing process:
This class is designed for both beginner and intermediate clay artists. During this four-lesson course, we will practice various hand building techniques such as slab building, hump and slump molds and pinch pots. We will take our projects from start to finish, including glazing and firing. Projects may include butter dishes, mugs, bowls and candle holders.

  • $200 fee includes 4 sessions (total 8 hours) plus all materials and firings (e-transfer, credit card, or cheques accepted, due at first class)
  • Maximum of 10 participants per session – this allows for plenty of individual attention and good social atmosphere

(Please note that Craig Bay does not own a pottery wheel, so that method cannot be offered at this time.)

We hope that residents will find this workshop beneficial, and it will inspire more use of the Beach Club Pottery Studio (aka Arts & Crafts Room) in the future!
