Fun times are back again, the 2023 Organizing Committee of the 7th annual CBCGC are pleased to announce the event will take place Sunday, August 27th at the Memorial Golf Course.

The activity is open to all Craig Bay residents on a first come basis, with a limit of 20 teams or 80 golfers. Enter as a team, a pair or as an individual. Golfing ability is a non-factor the format is Best Ball, and scores are not recorded – participation is the main factor.

Details of the Charity Golf Classic are outlined on the attached registration form. Just print, fill in the registration form, and deliver it to Phil Howell or Dave Montgomery along with a cheque made out to Memorial Golf Course for the appropriate amount. We take cheques only, as it simplifies our accounting system plus we don’t have a bank account.

Please click below to view and print the registration form, and follow the instructions for how to register and pay.

Community members who have participated in previous CBCGC’S will be familiar with the format. For new members to the community, the object of this day is to get the Craig Bay golfers together for a day of fun on the links and at the same time kick start the annual Craig Bay Fall Food Drive. We have a windup at the day’s conclusion back in Craig Bay at the Clubhouse for the Lucky Prize draws and desserts. In the past 6 years, this golfing event has raised around $14,500 as a CB Fall Food Drive Kickstarter.

The CBFFD organizers are a group of our dedicated community volunteers. They work in conjunction with the Parksville Fire Department program in providing help to families and individuals around Christmas time. Funds and food gathered are turned over to the Arrowsmith Salvation Army in December.

Just a reminder to purchase some tickets for the Karen Black Memorial Lucky Draw. All the prizes that have been collected are decided by drawing the winners from a hat rather than some activity on the golf course. Last year the prizes were valued at well over $1,200, won by 29 winners. Great odds for a $10 investment

If you have suggestions or are willing to take an active role in keeping this an ongoing event, contact Dave or Phil. Our energetic group will find some task for volunteers who wish to assist in any capacity. Likewise, we appreciate any donation of prizes that can be used in the KBM Lucky Draw.

We are happy to see organizers Vinetta, Wayne Phil, Stuart, Carol and Penny returning. All will do a good job to make the event successful.
