LOOKING FOR A VOLUNTEER ACTIVITY THAT IS FUN?
ART WALL SELECTION COMMITTEE needs YOU!!
The Art Wall Selection Committee is a rotating committee of three; one rotating off as a new member comes in. The term is approximately one year, covering 3 exhibits: Fall, Winter and Spring. There is no exhibit during July and August.
The “hot” seat time includes: Selection of the art to be hung from Craig Bay artists who have voluntarily sent in a submission form including a photo.
Following Selection there is a two-week period so that the artists can prepare the selected piece for hanging. The “week of work” includes taking down the art from the previous exhibit, hanging the art of the next exhibit, and hosting an Opening Reception and assisting with serving beverages compliments of the Craig Bay Social Club.
The above series description occurs three times for each member of the Selection Committee over their year long period. The total hours involved over the three exhibits is approximately: 30 hours spread over the year.
It is great if you are comfortable climbing a step stool, (not mandatory), to assist with the safety hooks, and positioning of the individual art pieces. You will have a hands-on opportunity to look at, think about and learn by experiencing art from the community of Craig Bay artists who choose to submit. Meetings are not frequent and always short. Most exhibit issues and information can be determined and solved by email communication. Lots of laughs and comradarie develop as we work together in support of ART.
