Just over six years ago, a widow in our community decided that she needed companionship, support and encouragement. To that end, the craig bay singles group was created.
Bernice Hathaway deserves an incredible amount of thanks for stepping up to create our group who were going through similar experiences. Bernice has since moved away from Craig Bay and since then, several members have taken turns to continue the group arrangements.
Our monthly gatherings happen at the club house on the third Sunday of each month (when covid restrictions allow). Usually, two or three members take responsibility for the event. Today, there are currently 40 people registered and there is always room for new members. In the past there have been a variety of events hosted, including meals out to local restaurants, potluck suppers at the clubhouse, visits to the theater and movies. Some members have even vacationed together!
