Although it seems early, we are busy working on our 2020 Nanoose Community Services Elf Program! We are a little early this year as we will be making some adjustments to our regular routine to accommodate COVID-19 health guidelines. Last year, with your help, we were able to make sure that everyone in our community celebrated a wonderful Christmas, complete with the turkey, treats and gifts. Thank you for helping to provide a wonderful holiday for so many!
If you would like to participate again this year, here is how we will be doing things at Craig Bay:
The Elf tag basket will not be in the Clubhouse as in previous years as it is closed due to the pandemic. We’ve come up with a solution to that. We are listing some of the requests from our seniors, and will be set up at the upper front door area of the Beach Club on Friday, December 11th between 10 and 11 AM to accept any gifts you may wish to donate.
Here are some of the requests from our seniors.
Shoppers Drug Mart – to help a senior with special needs.
Prepaid Visa card – to enable seniors to shop at the store of their choice
Marks – the men like to shop here for clothes
Petro Can – to enable seniors to get to medical appointments
QF cards – to stretch the grocery budget
If you are unable to shop for any of the above, a donation by cheque of any amount to the Elf Program is always welcome! A tax receipt can be issued for any gift/cheque of $20 or more. Please bring your receipt with your gift and we will fill out a tax form on December 11th.
If anyone has any questions regarding the program, please feel free to contact Maureen Moore at email@example.com
